  • What they said: I wish I lived in the fifties/sixties everything was so much better then
  • What I heard: I wish I lived in the fifties/sixties when minorities/non heterosexuals/trans* folk/women knew their place and didn’t want rights because boy it sure is exhausting not being an awful shithead
  • People are always quick to assume the worst. What if they meant it was better because people would go out and talk to their neighbors and check on them? Maybe people looked out for each other then. Maybe people preferred to go out and talk to people in person because they had to. I've heard minorities say this. My mom still talks about the good ol days when she was growing up. Maybe she was referring to family closeness. Not everything is racist/sexist. Give it a break once in a while folks.

Please stop reblogging those photos of the ‘Miami Zombie’ attack. The man that was attacked has a name, it’s Ronald Poppo. He is 65 years old and he is in critical condition, fighting for his life. There isn’t anything funny about this situation. It really disturbs me that so many folks are not even thinking twice about circulating graphic photos or making zombie jokes. Have some respect for a human life - please.

Not that I’ve seen anyone I follow reblog anything like this, but I’m tired of seeing it on the news. It freaks me out
